Whew!
That was fun. It was a crazy rush to get line edits corrected and the cover design finalized, but it’s done, and I’m pleased.
What’s next? Wash four days of
dishes stacked in the sink, take out the trash, find the top of my desk, clean my bathroom, and get a full night’s sleep.
I had forgotten what it was
like to work with a deadline. I also forgot how much I enjoyed it. There is
something about being under the gun that I find challenging and rewarding. Do I
want to do it every day? Been there. Done that. Don’t need to go there again. But
having a reminder two or three times a year is a good thing. At least for me.
I got that monkey off my
shoulder this week. You know the one who whispers in your ear, “You can’t do
that.” Yeah, that one. In my case, it was “You can't write a second book.” Well, he’s gone now and the second book it close to being released.
If you've got that monkey on
your shoulder, tell him to go find someone else to pester because you’re not
going to listen anymore. You've got work to do, and so do I.
Braham McCabe . . . your story’s
next.
Happy writing & running,
Kathy
