Thirty-One Days to the Finish Line

On March 31, I'm running in the Run the Bluegrass Half-Marathon. I'm also releasing The Ruby Brooch, the first story in the Celtic Brooch Trilogy. There's a lot to do between now and then.

I didn't wake up this morning and decide to run 13.1 miles. That happened back in  September, and I've been in training ever since. Neither did I wake up this morning and decide to self-publish a book. That thought has been swirling in my mind for almost two years. Why has it taken so long? Well, that’s one of the things I’ll be looking at during the month of March. Have you read the book Who Moved My Cheese?  Change is always difficult.

Prior to September, I sat at my computer and wrote almost 24/7. My idea of exercise was leaving my chair and going to the kitchen for something to eat. Now I’m a runner. I've lost twenty-five pounds and three dress sizes. And I love the new and improved me.  I have muscles in my legs for the first time in my life, and I'm well on my way to having abdominal muscles, too.

What have I learned along the way? How have I applied the lessons to my life? And how has running improved my writing? Those questions will be the focus of this blog during the month of March. I hope you’ll check back and follow the countdown to race/release day.

Happy writing and running, Kathy
