The Day Before the Race

Finally, the butterflies have calmed down.

The manuscript has gone off to be formatted. I'll have it back this afternoon and will then upload it to the sales channels to be available for download tomorrow. I will post links to Amazon, Barnes & Noble, and Smashwords as soon as I have them.

My sister, Mimi, had really cool t-shirts made for “Team Kathy” with the book cover on the back. My family and friends are as excited as I am.
This will be playing on my iPod today to keep me focused and as a reminder that I AM ready.

The following are pictures from my visit to the Expo at Keeneland this afternoon.

My caricature drawn on a bottle of Maker's Mark

Race for the Cure hat
Finishers' Medals with Secretariat's colors

2nd Place Trophy for my age group
women 60-64
No hope of bringing that one home!
While at the expo, I had a one-on-one with Danny Abshire, co-founder of Newton Running Shoes. (See the picture of my lime green, orange and yellow shoes above.) Danny showed me a new way of running that reduces impact, returns energy, and propels me forward so I can run faster. I won't be able to wear the shoes tomorrow, but starting next week, I'll be training in them.

It's now 5:00 PM. After a light supper, I'll get my running gear together and then relax before going to bed early. I'll be up at 5:00 and head to Keeneland about 7:00.for an 8:00 AM start time. It's almost here.

Happy writing and running, Kathy
