Visit to Cabinet War Rooms and High Tea at the Savoy

MORE PICTURES FROM MY RESEARCH TRIP TO ENGLAND

On Monday, the owner of Wilson’s, Oliver Wilson, guided us around the Cabinet War Rooms, the Imperial War Museum, and even arranged, at the last minute, high tea at the Savoy. The IWM is housed in what used to be Bethlem Royal Hospital, the oldest psychiatric hospital in the world, dating back to 1247. Hence the term Bedlam!
High Tea at the Savoy.
It was exactly like the video below.

Tuesday we headed off to the Cliffs of Dover and Dover Castle and visited the subterranean Headquarters where the masterminds planned the evacuation of Dunkirk. The day was overcast so we couldn’t see France from the top of Dover Castle.
Dover Castle (It was cold!)

In the afternoon we went to Chartwell, Winston’s Churchill’s home. Ohmygoodness! It was gorgeous.

Wednesday we headed off to Bletchley Park. I'll post those pictures tomorrow!
